Roger Melvin Nairn was born on February 27, 1948, the son of Melvin and Thelma (Hurst) Nairn. He grew up in Webster City, Iowa, as a farmboy. He moved to Eagle Grove and married Marla Jo Nairn. [Babcock] He farmed all his life. He later moved to Mason City. He is survived by three sons, Christopher, Michael, and Steven; and three sisters, Donna Spangler of California, Cheryl Segal of Clarion, and Kathy Simmons of Minnesota. Roger Nairn died on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at his home in Mason City. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, January 26, at the Baptist Church, 1211 S. Kentucky Ave., in Mason City.

Roger M. Nairn, 70, of Mason City, died Friday (January 18, 2019) at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Temple Baptist Church, 1211 S Kentucky Ave, Mason City, with the Rev. Steve Wolfe officiating. Roger’s family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday. The son of Melvin and Rose Nairn, Roger Melvin Nairn was born on February 27, 1948 in Webster City, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Marla Babcock on June 28, 1970 in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Together they have three children, Christopher, Michael, and Steven.
