Funeral Services Held Friday for Mrs. Nagle [Nagel] Who Died of Stroke

Due to the serious illness of Mrs. Helen Jost, a quiet funeral was held at Jost home, Friday afternoon for her mother, Mrs. Marie Nagel. The Rev. Vernon Jaberg was in charge.

Pallbearers were Charles Bielefeld, Billy Bielefeld and Walter Bielefeld, Verle Wooten, Merlin Smith and Seabo Lamfers.

Mrs. Marie Louise Nagel, nee Schluter, daughter of Christian and Louise Uphoff Schluter, was born on a farm near the village of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, which is near the city of Madison, on March 15, 1869. She received her schooling in the rural schools near Cottage Grove in Wisconsin. As a youth, she was received into the fellowship of the German Evangelical Church of Cottage Grove.

Her residence was changed when she was united in marriage with Mr. Charles Bielefeld and they established their home in the vicinity of Thornton, Iowa. This marriage was blessed in the providence of Almighty God with four children, Fleeda, Helen, Atlanta and Charles Adrian.

Mrs. Nagel lived a very active life serving her family and her loved ones according to her ability and strength. Having enjoyed good health through most of her life, on October 21, 1952, she suffered a stroke and was taken to Mercy hospital in Mason City where she passed to her eternal reward. Her death occurred on Wednesday, October 29th at 3:00 a.m. She attained the age of 83 years, 7 months and 14 days.

Mrs. Nagel was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Caroline, Mrs. Fred Letzring and two brothers, Rev. Henry Schluter and Frederick Schluter. She is survived by three daughters, Fleeda, Mrs. Taylor C. Wooten of Des Moines, Ia., Helen, Mrs. Henry Jost, and Atlanta, Mrs. Ola Thompson, both of Klemme, Iowa, and one son, Charles Adrian Bielefeld of Dougherty, Ia. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Interment was in the Ell Township Cemetery.
