Mrs. Helen Jost, 61

Mrs. Helen Louise, nee Bielefeld Jost, daughter of Charles Bielefeld and Mrs. Marie Louise Nagel, was born on February 13, 1891, near Thornton. She received her early schooling in the rural schools in the vicinity of Thornton and completed her schooling in the Meservey schools. Her residence throughout her life has been in the vicinity of Klemme. Mrs. Jost or "Helen" as she was affectionately known was an ambitious person having labored with her husband in business and for the Klemme public schools and recently at Thada's store.

Mrs. Jost was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed church and of the Women's Guild, having served this organization, as president. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors and of the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion.

She was united in marriage with Henry Jost on May 19, 1940, in a ceremony performed by the Rev. Calvin Grosshuesch, pastor of Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed church.

Mrs. Jost lived a very busy and active life until the time of the failure of her health. She had been ailing for several months and has been confined to her home since the early part of October. She died on the afternoon of Thursday, November 13, having attained the age of 61 years and 9 months.

Mrs. Jost was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by three children; Helen Wilma Masterson, Wayne Stanley Hurd, and Phyllisjean Lamfers. She is also survived by two sisters; Mrs. Fleeda Wooten of Des Moines, Mrs. Atlanta Thompson of Klemme; and one brother, Charles Adrian Bielefeld of Dougherty. Also surviving are four grandchildren and one stepson, Harold Jost of Toledo, Ohio. She is also survived by many more distant relatives and a host of friends and acquaintances.

She lived in the Klemme vicinity for 35 years. In 1944, she organized the United Service Women group at her home, and served as president for several years.
