Rites Held For Mrs. T. Kemp

Goodell: This community was again saddened by the death of a life long resident, Mrs. Theodore Kemp, age 65, who passed away early Saturday morning in the Community hospital at Belmond.

Clara A. Heginger, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Heginger, was born July 24, 1891, at Goodell, and passed away June 30, 1956. She grew to womanhood on the parental farm west of Goodell.

She was united in marriage to Theodore Kemp on February 17, 1917, and they began their new home on a farm northwest of Goodell. They resided on this farm for thirty years, retiring from active work in 1947, when they purchased a home and moved to Goodell. To this union were born two daughters.

Mrs. Kemp was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran church at Belmond, was a faithful attendant, and an active member of the Ladies' Aid Society.

For the past six months she has been in failing health, and in early April was admitted to the Community hospital in Belmond, where she has since been a patient. Through her long illness she was a most patient sufferer, enjoyed her relatives and friends when they visited her.

Mrs. Kemp was preceded in death by her parents. one brother and one sister. She leaves to mourn her going, her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Florence) Voetman, of Tripoli, and Mrs. Merlyn (Edna) Norris, of Eagle Grove, 5 grandchildren; 4 brothers, George and William Heginger of Belmond, Herman and Ben Heginger of Goodell, besides a host of other relatives and close friends.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 from the Fulton Funeral Home at Belmond, and at two o'clock from St. John's Lutheran church at Belmond, with the Rev. Wm. Heinzig officiating in these services. Serving as pallbearers were Amos Hanson, Bill Butts, Elmer Kienenberger, Elmer Anderson of Goodell, Albert Rabe and Clarence Vestweber of Belmond. Burial took place at Amsterdam cemetery, Goodell.
