Funeral Today for Former Business Man
Earl M. Anderson, 86, died Monday afternoon at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be this morning (Thursday) at 11 o'clock in the United Presbyterian Church, with the pastor Rev. Wm. McConnelee officiating. Burial will be Glenwood Cemetery. Mr. Anderson is survived by one daughter, Louise, Mrs. John Erlander, and two grandchildren of Eagle Grove.He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Anderson and was born in Eagle Grove Dec. 16, 1889. He attended the Goldfield School and at the age of 16 began working for the Harry Moore Co. at Goldfield, the store of which he later became the owner. He followed the mercantile business for 35 years and later became active in real estate. He was married to Carrie Whyte, April 12, 1911, in Goldfield. In 1972 Mr. and Mrs. Anderson moved to the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove due to health reasons for both. Mrs. Anderson died in April of 1975, the day following their 64th wedding anniversary. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.

Earl Martin Anderson was born December 16, 1889, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, the son of Martin and Dorotea Danielson Anderson, and died May 17,1976, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 1 day. He attended the Goldfield School and at the age of 16 became affiliated with Harry Moore & Co., which business, he later owned. Following 35 years of mercantile experience, he became active in Real Estate.On April 12, 1911, he was united in marriage to Carrie A. Whyte of Goldfield. The couple resided in Goldfield until 1972, when due to illness, they moved to the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove. Carrie died in 1975, the day following their 64th wedding anniversary.
Earl is survived by his daughter, Louise, Mrs. John Erlander, Eagle Grove; and two grandchildren: James Erlander, Eagle Grove; and Jonna Erlander, Minneapolis, Minn. He was a member of the Goldfield United Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one grandson; three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 20, at the Goldfield United Presbyterian Church. Rev. William McConnelee
