March 15, 1925 ---- November 15, 2018

Seventy-three-year resident of Olympia, Audrey Kover, 93, died November 15, 2018. Audrey was born March 15, 1925, in Fargo, North Dakota to William and Ruth (Gordon) Hanson. Raised in Iowa, she came to Seattle, Washington, in May of 1945 to chaperone her younger cousin and find work for the summer. Audrey was hired as a bookkeeper for a fish buyer in Neah Bay (it didn’t look THAT far on the map), where she met the love of her life Bill (Wilfred) Kover. They married in September of that same year and soon after moved to Olympia. Serving her country was very important to Audrey, she was a past president of Alfred M. Leach American Legion Auxiliary and bingo caller at American Lake Veteran’s Hospital, often “enlisting” her grandchildren to help! She loved to cook, tend her garden and kept a record of when the first pair of wood ducks came back to the creek each year.

Audrey is survived by her daughter, Margaret, “Margee” Thompson (Earl Hill); 6 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Barbara Gangstead. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bill; daughter, Jacqueline Conway; sisters, Ruth Reed, Eva Caudell, Donna Gray and brother, Robert (Big Bob) Bjornson. At her request, no service will be held.
