Charlotte Arlene Dewey was born May 16, 1925, to Andrew and Mable Rolland Dewey at Eagle Grove, Iowa. She attended Eagle Grove High School where she graduated. She has lived in Eagle Grove all her life. She worked for the Civil Service at Brooks Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, and the Wilson Meat Packing Plant in Eagle Grove.

Charlotte Arlene Nichols died Wednesday, October 22, 1997 at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove at the age of 72. Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Fox, and her husband, Dr. Steven Fox, of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Mike Farrell and wife, Linda, Vincent, and Douglas Farrell and wife, Mary, Eldora; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, George Dewey and wife, Peg, Pleasanton, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Donna Mac Palmer; and a brother, Jack Conklin.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 25, 1997, at 1 p.m. at the Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with the Reverend Franz Schemmel officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
