Funeral
MRS. ELLA CULMERMrs. Ella D. Culmer, 87, longtime resident of the Woolstock community, died Friday at the Story City hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church in Woolstock with burial being made in the French church cemetery east of Woolstock. The Greenfield Memorial Chapel of Webster City had charge of the services.
Ella Beshey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beshey, was born Feb. 14, 1885 at Woolstock. She received her early education and grew to young womanhood in that community. In 1903, she was united in marriage to Dell Culmer and the couple operated grocery stores at Dows, Iowa Falls and Clarion, later farming west of Woolstock for 10 years. They then moved into Woolstock where Mrs. Culmer operated the telephone exchange for 25 years.
She is survived by five children: Mrs. Earl (Velma) Fadden of Hammel, Minn.; Lowell Culmer of Minneapolis; Mrs. Hattie Van Dyke of Webster City; Clyde Culmer of Woolstock and Mrs. Marion Foley of Kansas City, MO; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Ervin Morrison of Webster City. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and four sisters. She was a member of the Woolstock Methodist Church.
