Mrs. Gladys Judith Johnson Cleveland, one-time resident of Eagle Grove died in Des Moines Wednesday, Sept. 28. Funeral services were at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Des Moines, F. Hallanger, pastor, Saturday morning. A second services was held at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kenneth R. Torvik, pastor Saturday at 2, followed by interment at Rose Hill cemetery, with Pastor F. Hallanger, officiating. Gladys was born June 2, 1912 at Gorham, N.D. At the age of 5 she moved with her family to Eagle Grove. In 1935 she married Linsworth Cleveland of Kanawha. They lived for a time in Kanawha and Eagle Grove and Torrance, Calif., and for the last 10 years in Des Moines. Her father Ole Johnson preceded her in death. Her husband, Linsworth, a son George and a daughter, Charlotte, survive her. Also surviving are her are her mother, Hannah Johnson, Eagle Grove, one sister, Mrs. Jamie Lyons, Rowan and 2 brothers, Ogden and Herbert both of Eagle Grove. On Sept. 22 she suffered a stroke from which she never recovered.
