Obituary of Ronald Rudey
Ronald Lee Rudey was born August 15 1940 at Eagle Grove, Iowa to Palmer N. Rudey and Merna L. Gambell. He passed away on September 25, 2018 in Lafayette, Colorado.He is survived by his daughters Pame Stone of Arvada, Colorado and Annette Lerch of Brighton, Colorado (grand children Aaron and Amanda and 4 great grand children) and brother Jack Norman Rudey of Lakewood, Colorado. He is also survived by a niece, nephews and many cousins.
Ron is a veteran of the US Navy and US Army where he was a percussionist in both branches. Early in his life he was a professional drummer getting his early start in High School and sitting in with visiting bands at the old Elitch’s amusement park. Following his military service, Ron went on to be a police officer with Arvada Police department and a deputy sheriff with Jefferson County Sheriff department. He retired in 2006 from Jefferson County Sheriff department.
Ron is preceded in death by his wife Lynne, daughter Stacie Stone, both parents, sisters Virginia Wilson, Carol Wuzur and a brother Robert Rudey. Ron’s father Palmer was one of seven children and the only child born in the United States. Palmer’s siblings were all born in Norway and settled in Iowa, Northern Minnesota and Canada.
Ron will be interred at Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove, Iowa next to his Mother and Father.
