Marvin Bruce Nelson “White Cloud”, the son of Harry and Clara (Nygaard) Nelson, was born December 6, 1944, at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Webster City, graduating from Webster City High School in 1963. Marvin was united in marriage to Sally Ann Wolff at Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe on June 3, 1966. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove and attended Evangelical Lutheran Church. Sally died on July 13, 2009. Marvin married Mary VanBuskirk on August 22, 2015, at Webster City, Iowa. They lived in Eagle Grove and attended First Baptist Church. Marvin enlisted in the Iowa National Guard after high school and worked as a mill operator at Farm Land Industries in Eagle Grove for 30 years retiring in 2009. He also worked at Boone Valley, Ryerson Auctioneering and Nelson Lock and Key. He enjoyed slot machines and playing the lottery.

Marvin died Sunday, November 4, 2018, at his home in Eagle Grove at the age 73 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sally Ann Nelson; son, Mykyl Nelson and a sister, Charlene. Survivors include his wife, Mary Nelson of Eagle Grove; children: Marvin L. Nelson of Webster City, Shane Nelson of Fort Dodge and Melissa Fagerlind of Duncombe; step children: Kathie Wagoner of Kansas, Christopher Draeger of Iowa, Tina Collar of Kansas and Jay VanBuskirk of Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, Mikeal, Alexis, Tom, Josh, Terry, Zach, Tyler, Kayla, Brooke, Nick and Alexandra; eight step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren and a sister, Karen Sundine of Humboldt.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Steve Swanholm officiating. Visitation will be at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Washington Lutheran Cemetery, rural Duncombe. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
