Helen Mathilda MacMahon of Eagle Grove was born in Wylie, Minn., June 6, 1884 to Mr. and Mrs. August Hoppe. Residing there till she was 18 years of age she moved to Crookston, Minn. In 1907 she was united in marriage to Joseph Willis MacMahon. Residing briefly at Crookston, Minn., they moved to Marshalltown. In 1916 they moved to the Duluth, Minn. area where they lived until moving to Eagle Grove in 1923. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Eagle Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her husband, Joseph, two sons: Joe A. MacMahon, Badger and Ralph MacMahon, Waterloo and one daughter Gladys, Mrs. Edward Tokheim, Vincent. She is also survived by five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Services were held Friday May 18 at The First Methodist Church, Eagle Grove with Rev. Lyle Lieder, officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
