Funeral services for Emile G. Frye, 70, of Dows were held at the United Methodist Church in Dows October 29, 1979. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery at Clarion. Military rites were conducted by the Watson-Beach Post #523 of the Dows American Legion.

Emile died at his home October 25, 1979 of an apparent heart attack.

He was born February 23, 1909 at Wall Lake Township and was the son of Emile G. and Ida Otto Frye. He was raised and educated in the Wall Lake and Dows schools. He went to the Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, IL and after that entered the Army during World War II. After the war he moved to Dows and in 1946 opened the Frye Electric and Hardware business and was still working at the time of his death.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion and Commercial Club.

He is survived by seven brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ella Sellers of Clarion; Harry of Belmond; Mrs. Bertha Porter of Los Alamitos, CA; Mrs. Nellie Leffler of Whitier, CA; Ray and Florence both of Dows and Fred of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother in infancy and one sister. The Willm Funeral Home in Dows was in charge of the arrangements.
