George E. "Butch" Daley, 62, of Belmond, IA, a native of Crawfordsville, Indiana, died unexpectedly, Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City, IA. Funeral Services will be held 10 am, Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at Andrews Funeral Home, Belmond, IA. Pastor Jim Gochenouer will be officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 PM at the Andrews Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the services on Friday morning.

George Eugene Daley, Jr. the son of George E. and Melissa (Andrews) Daley. He attended schools in Terre Haute, Indiana and had been active in the Boys Club in Crawfordsville. Following his school her served in the Security/Safety areas of the National Guard. George was married for a time and the union brought a daughter Anna into the world.

George the simple pleasures of life and relished his very close relationship with his father George, Sr. He enjoyed fishing on numerous creeks, rivers, and lakes and camping outings. He was an avid fan of old classic movies, especially scary and horror themes and had a vast collection of them along with video games which were also a favorite past time. He enjoyed times with family and visiting with both friends and acquaintances and never met a stranger. He lived with his brother Mike in Belmond for many years and was fond of co-inhabitant of their home, the black lab "Buddy". Many knew "Butch" and Mike for their daily transportation about the Belmond area on their bikes. Butch also was known by the many employed he worked with at Eaton Corporation in Belmond over the last 30 years, for his love of Mountain Dew and sweets that he shared with everyone at the plant. Fellow employees always knew he was a have a supply of Dew, Cup cakes, Cookies and candy to share with them. Nearly everyday after work one might see George "Butch" as most people knew him at the Fareway grocery store buying sweets and other treats to share at work the following day.

He is survived by his mother Melissa Daley and companion Melford "Mel" Velau, Belmond, IA; daughter Anna Daley, Lebanon, Indiana; sister Georgia K. (Larry) Tipton, Riverview FL; brothers Mike Daley, Belmond, IA; sister Verna Marie (Barney) Barnhill, Raleigh, NC; brothers Terry (Opal) Daley, Crawfordsville, Indiana, and John Daley, Covington, Indiana; sister Patricia (Tom) Hill, Crawfordsville, Indiana; and brother James Daley, Belmond, IA; also many aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, father George E. Daley, Sr. March 9, 2003, and an infant sister Nancy Anne Daley, age 2. Andrews Funeral Home, Belmond, IA.
