A funeral service for Anne Nelson, 78, of Renwick will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the United Methodist Church, Renwick. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the United Methodist Church, Renwick.

Anne Elizabeth Nairn was born on February 17, 1940, to William and Kathryn (Follett) Nairn. Growing up she lived in the Webster City area attending Eagle Grove schools and later graduating from Boone Valley High School.

On October 24, 1959, she was united in marriage to Bernard Nelson in Goldfield. To this union were four children, Ricky, Vicki, Sherri, and Rodney. She enjoyed staying at home to raise her children and helping on the family farm. After her children graduated, she worked at Dodger Manufacturing in Eagle Grove for 18 years. In their later years, Bernie and Anne spent time in Florida to escape the Iowa winters.

Anne loved spending time with her family, being involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Often times she would travel back from Florida to attend her grandchildren's sporting events. Anne enjoyed playing cards, bingo, sewing, flowers, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Fan. She was a member of Delta Phi, Red Hat Ladies, and the United Methodist Church in Renwick.

Anne died on Monday, October 1, 2018 at her home in Renwick. She was 78. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bernard of Renwick; children, Ricky (friend, Karolee Wilson) Nelson of Humboldt, Vicki (Denny) Toomsen of Renwick, Sherri (Marvin) Brown of Lafayette, CO, Rodney (Val) Nelson of Renwick; grandchildren Derek Toomsen, David Toomsen, Dylan (Alyssa) Nelson, Alex Nelson, Andy Nelson, Cole Nelson, Nikki Anne Brown; step-grandchildren, Jeremy (Melissa) Toomsen and their children Mia, Eli, and Asa, Carrie (Corey) Nelson and their children Rylynn and Coltyn; sister, Diana Nairn of Mason City, and many friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, William and Kathryn; and parents-in-law, Gerald and Bernice.
