Services were Wednesday, June 12 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kanawha, Iowa for Vera F. Tesdahl, 89, who died June 8, 1991 at the Kanawha Community Care Center in Kanawha. Rev. William Perkins officiated. Burial was in Norway Township Cemetery at Kanawha.

Vera Fern Tesdahl was born July 26, 1901 at Kanawha to George and Lucy Hunt Rust. She was raised on a farm near Kanawha and attended the country schools. She married Lewis Tesdahl at Clarion February 23, 1921. They made their home on a farm southwest of Kanawha. She was an active member of St. John‘s Lutheran Church in Kanawha and a member of the Ladies Aide.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis who died February 18, 1983; one sister; one brother and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Maylene and Willian Schreur, Kanawha; and Marjorie and Darrell Dibben of Blair; one son, Donald Tesdahl of Rome, Italy; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Opal Rust of Britt, Iowa; and one brother, Raymond Rust of Marshalltown, Iowa. Casketbearers were Carroll Burras, Donovan Baker, Roger Burras, Raymond Burras, Harold Naefke and Robert Harle. Mrs. Ed Engstrom was organist. Mrs. Lawrence Espe was soloist. Lawrence Espe and Richard Huntley were ushers. The Ewing Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
