Graveside services today for Mrs. Carl Vevle
Mrs. Carl M. Vevle, 81, the former Myrtle Strand, 1032 N. Sumac, Janesville, Wisc., where she lived with her daughter, Hilda Vevle, died Monday morning, April 10, at the Mercy Hospital, Janesville, Wisc. Funeral services were Wednesday at 1 p.m., April 12, in the First Lutheran Chapel, Janesville, Wisc. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. today (Thursday) in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, with the Rev. Robert Vevle of Coon Valley, Wisc., officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.She is survived by her four daughters: Miss Hilda Vevle, Janesville, Wisc.; Mrs. David Eastwood, Verona, Wisc.; Mrs. F. M. Patterson, Waukegan, Ill.; Miss Lois Vevle, Fairbault, Minn.; and one son, Rev. Robert Vevle, Coon Valley, Wisc. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, who died February 28, 1948.
Myrtle Strand was born at Abercrombie, North Dakota, Feb. 22, 1891. She graduated from Concordia Lutheran College, Moorhead, Minn. On June 5, 1918 she was united in marriage to Rev. Carl M. Vevle. They served churches in Montana, Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Janesville, Wisc; two women's groups and the Julie Circle in Janesville.
