Kathryn A. (Moore) Cooper, age 99, of Dows, IA, most recently a resident of the Southfield Wellness Community, Webster City, IA, died February 2, 2018, at Webster City. Public Graveside services will be Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, 1:30 PM, at Fairview Cemetery, Dows, IA. Stan Watne will be officiating. A time of food and fellowship will follow at the American Legion in Dows.

Kathryn Augusta Moore was born Sept. 9, 1918, at Dows, IA, the daughter of Charles "Charlie" and Flossie (Faun) Moore. She attended Dows Community Schools graduating from Dows High School in the Class of 1935.

Throughout her entire working life Kathryn was employed in many different occupations working as a waitress, the Dows Care Center, Denger Dows Hatchery, H & V Café among other employment.

Kathryn was united in marriage to Wallace “Cy” Cooper on January 1, 1938, and enjoyed many years of companionship and life journey's together. Their union was blessed with a daughter Kay. The couple raised their daughter in Dows. Wally preceded Kathryn in death on her birthday in the 1976. Kathryn continued to reside in Dows making her home and working. She was an active long time member of the Dows United Methodist Church and later attended the Abundant Life Church in Dows for a time. Favorite pastimes included flower and vegetable gardening, spending time at the Dows Library, and listening to Old time country and gospel music on PBS television. She truly appreciated the simple things in life including times spent in the presence of family and friends.

Kathryn is survived by a sister Sue Humphrey, Iowa Falls, IA, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Flossie Moore, husband Wallace “Cy” Cooper in 1976, an infant son, daughter Kay Bowden and husband Tom, grandsons Ronald Bowden in 1966 and Erik Bowden, brothers: Aubrey "Red" Moore, Rodney Moore, and Robert "Bob" Moore; sisters: Elaine, Evalyn, Louise, and Pearl.
