Phyllis Marie King, 65, of Dows, Iowa, formerly of Mason City, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 11495 265th Street Hwy. 122 West, Mason City, with Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to Mr. Thomas King.

Phyllis King was born July 24, 1953, daughter of Fred and Audrey (Pedersen) Samson. Phyllis attended High School in Canton, SD. After high school, Phyllis was united in marriage to Dennis Eenhuis, who passed away in 1975, and to this union two children were born Philip and Deni Eenhuis. Phyllis then moved to Arizona and while living there she worked at a pharmacy. Phyllis married Thomas King on July 15, 1989 and moved back to Mason City in 1992, and finally made their home in Dows, Iowa in 1994.

Phyllis worked in the Dows Nursing Home and also at the Down Home Restaurant. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and crocheting blankets for them. She also could be found reading a good Stephen King book, playing Yahtzee and Trivial Pursuit. She looked forward to spending time with family and friends.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Thomas King; two children, Philip Eenhuis and Deni (Gary) Sliger; adopted daughter, Ann Bryant; seven grandchildren, Christopher Ewing, Haily Sliger, Sean Sliger, Marrissa Oakes, Cristina Vega, Adrianna Bryant, Kylissa Tesdahl; two great grandchildren, Matthew Oakes and Katlyn Ewing; two siblings, Connie Wilson and John Samson; father in-law, Joseph H. King; six sisters- and brothers-in-law, Karen Hubacker, Bill (Steph) King, Pam (Mark) Kleven, Teresa (Steve) Harms, Nancy (Tim) Young, Joe King, Lanaya Angel, Mike (Julia) Hesley, Michele Couch, Kelly (Connie) Hesley and many extended family members. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Fred Samson and Audrey Hart; mother-in-law, Hazel King; father and mother in-law, Gerry and Phylis Hesley; first husband, Dennis Eenhuis; daughter, Tammy Lynn; sister, Nancy Schippers and many extended family members.
