September 10, 1958 ---- January 1, 2006

Missoula, Montana - Greg Alan Moline Mewes, 47, passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at St. Patrick Hospital. On New Year's Day, Greg left us while enjoying his great passion for the outdoors. Greg was born Sept. 10, 1958, in Waterloo, Iowa. He married his wife, Sandra Richards, in Missoula in 1981, and after sampling life in several other states, came back to live in the Bitterroot Valley.

He was a lead cook/truck driver for Bishop Services Mobile Fire Catering for 10 seasons. Although he loved the road and the travel, he wanted to be home with his family more often, and because of his contagious smile, quick wit and good humor, found his niche in the automotive sales/management field up until his death.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughter, Samantha (Chris); son, Tony; granddaughter, Mackaela (Toad); his parents, Don and Faye Mewes; sisters, Debbie Quintus (Ken) and Ann Mewes; nieces and nephew, Ellen and Lauren Quintus and Brandi, Emily and Jacob Mewes.

In 1997, Greg was blessed to find his biological parents, Patricia Christansen (Ken) and John Grant Moline (Patti); sisters and brothers, Vickie Brown, Michele Moline, Jeff Moline (Shelly), John and Christie (Steve); and several nieces and nephews. Greg was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Moline.

It's a rare occasion when you can leave this world doing something that you loved. His passion for the outdoors fills us with great memories of hunting, fishing, hiking, yard work and whatever it took to be outdoors with family and friends.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 6, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with services to follow at 11 a.m. A reception will follow the services. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Riverside Cemetery in Stevensville.
