Leslie Ivan Comstock [Lester Ivan] was born June 9, 1924, the son of Sylvester and Iola Curtis Comstock at Otho. He received his education in the Webster City school system. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in Japan. He received his honorable discharge January 9, 1950. He was united in marriage to Lois Woodbeck of Webster City, March 17, 1953, at Webster City. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove where he was employed as a feed sacker for Boone Valley Co-op. The company had changed its name to AGP at the time of his retirement in 1987. Following his retirement, the Comstock family moved to an acreage east of Humboldt.

Lester Comstock died suddenly at his home February 18, 1992. He had attained the age of 67 years, eight months, and nine days. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Leslie Jr. [Lester, Jr.]; and an infant daughter, Patricia. He is survived by his wife, Lois; one son, Leslie Comstock; and a daughter, Gertrude Comstock all of Humboldt.

Funeral services were held February 21, at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. The Rev. Scott C. Hall, of the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove, officiated the 11 a.m. services. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Services, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Lester I. Comstock, 67, rural Humboldt, were held Friday, Feb. 21, at the
Kastler - Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove, with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. He died Tuesday, Feb. 18, at his home. The Kastler - Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements, with the Rev. Scott C. Hall, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Eagle Grove, officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; one son, Leslie Comstock of Humboldt; a daughter, Gertrude Comstock, also of Humboldt; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Grace Whittaker of Webster City and Ruth Gillman of California. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two infant children, Leslie Jr. [Lester, Jr.] and Patricia.
