John C. Risius, 81, of Sac City, Iowa and formerly of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014, at the Park View Rehabilitation Center, Sac City, Iowa. Funeral services for John C. Risius will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at the Linn's Funeral Chapel, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. A time of visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm before services also at the funeral home on Wednesday. Private family burial will be at a later date.
John C. Risius was born May 19, 1932 at his parent's home in Hardin County, Iowa, the son of John Fredrick and Bessie [Killin] Risius. He was raised by an aunt and uncle: Roy and Hazel Fischer. He attended the Geneva, Iowa Community Schools. On September 12, 1953, John was united in marriage to Jennie Oelmann at the First Reformed Church parsonage, Iowa Falls, Iowa. To this union three children were born: Catherine, Linda, and Jolene. John drove truck for Ennis Trucking, Clarion, Iowa, the Iowa Falls Farmers Coop, and Jim Carpenter Trucking, Owasa, Iowa.
John C. Risius is survived by his wife: Jennie Risius of Sac City, Iowa; two daughters: Cathy Pehling of Candler, North Carolina and Jolene [Dave] Rosauer of Sac City, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; seven brothers: Carl Risius, Mike Weideman, Bobbie Risius, Fredrick Risius, George Risius, Roger Risius, Dennis Risius; and one sister: LaVonna Kay Risius. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter: Linda Risius; a son-in-law: Allan Pehling; two sisters: Caroline Dalke, Kathryn Valstadt; and six brothers: Ralph Risius, Marvin Risius, Allen Risius, Fredrick Risius, Kevin Risius, and Dick Campbell.
