Joe Roseland, 67, died Saturday at the Veteran's Home in Clinton where he had been a resident since 1959. His death was unexpected. He is survived by four sisters Mrs. Christine Larson and Mrs. Floyd Pohlman of Eagle Grove, Miss Mable Roseland of Minneapolis and Mrs. E. J. Weekes of Omaha, three brothers Elmer of Winterset, Bert of Omaha and Julius Roseland of Eagle Grove. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Evangelical Lutheran church in charge of Pastor Kenneth Torvik. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.****
Joe Roseland, 67, died unexpectedly at the Clinton Veteran's Home Saturday, June 23. Funeral services were held at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church, Kenneth Torvik, Pastor, Wednesday at 2:00. He was born Joseph Oliver to John and Malinda Olson Roseland, at Eagle Grove Oct. 25, 1894. He lived out his youth on farms near Eagle Grove. In 1917 he served in the U S Army in France, after which he returned to farming with his brother Harold. He later made his home with a sister, Mrs. Christine Larson. During World War II he worked in Omaha, living with his sister Ellen, Mrs. E. J. Weekes. In 1959 he became a resident of the Clinton Veterans' Home, where he died. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Harold. He is survived by 3 brothers: Elmer of Winterset, Bert of Omaha and Julius of Eagle Grove and by 4 sisters: Mrs. Christine Larson and Mrs. Floyd Pohlman, both of Eagle Grove, Mabel Roseland of Minneapolis and Ellen, Mrs. Ernest Weekes of Omaha. Interment followed the service at Rose Hill Cemetery.
