Long-time Resident is Released from Suffering

Robert Kirchner, Sixty-six Years of Age Passes Away at Three O'clock This Morning - Lived in Hamilton County About Forty-six Years

Robert Kirchner, sixty-six years of age, passed peacefully away this morning at three o'clock at his home on Bank street, after an illness of many months, one month only, of which he was confined to his bed.

Ten years ago he retired from farm work on account of failing health and has resided in Webster City since that time. For the past year and a half every effort has been made to restore him to health, but nothing availed against the malignant nature of the disease and the dissolution came as a great relief to the sufferer.

Robert Kirchner was born in Naumberg, Louisa county, New York, January 21, 1858. When a small boy, he removed with his parents to a farm near Sheboygan, Wis., and grew to manhood there. Following the death of his parents, he came to Iowa, about forty-six years ago, settling in Hamilton county. He has, with the exception of one year spent in the west, been a resident of this county ever since.

In 1891, he was united in marriage with Minnie Gerber, and to this union three children were born: Louie E. Kirchner of Clinton; Daniel E., of Oak Park, Ill., and Anna, living at home with her parents. A small granddaughter, Eleanor Kirchner, also makes her home with her grandparents. Beside the wife and children and granddaughter, he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Herman Schweppe and Mrs. Bertha Schweppe, of this city.

The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Edward Piper, of the English Lutheran church officiating. The services at the cemetery will be in charge of the Elks.
