Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 2 at two o'clock at the Eyler Chapel in Clarion for Mrs. Minnie Musfelt, who passed away at the Bel Chris Manor Nursing Home at 11:57 Saturday, Sept. 28. Pallbearers were Howard Whitman, Newt Draheim, Don Scott, Clair McOllough; Merle Nagle; Ance Seal. The organist was Mrs. A. M. Andrews and music was furnished by Mrs. Clair McOllough and Mrs. B. F. McClelland, who sang, "Under His Wings" and "Beyond the Sunset".
Mrs. Minnie Musfelt was born on a farm near Elkport, Iowa, Clayton County on October 4, 1870. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Boehm were natives of Germany and were the parents of four children. Minnie was the last survivor of the Boehm family. Her parents, sisters, brother and husband and son preceded her in death. Minnie Boehm attended the rural schools and grew to womanhood in the Elkport community. She was s member of the German Lutheran church at Elkport. Later when they moved to Klemme they became members of the Reformed church.
On April 15, 1891 Minnie Boehm and Fred Musfelt were united In marriage at the parental Boehm farm home. They lived on a farm for awhile and later moved on a farm near Klemme, Iowa. About 40 years ago the Musfelts moved to Clarion, Iowa, where they have since resided.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Musfelt observed their 60th wedding anniversary April 15, 1951. In failing health for a number of years, Mrs. Musfelt was cared for at home by her son, Oscar and daughter, Malinda and Hattie until she was admitted to Bel-Chris Manor Nursing Home, Belmond on August 7, 1967. She resided there until she passed away on Sept. 28, 1968.
She is survived by her son, Oscar, of Clarion, and daughters, Mrs. John McTee of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Mrs. Oscar Rice of Clarion. Another son, George passed away in December, 1927. She leaves six grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral services were Mrs. John McTee of Lincoln, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Heilen and daughter, Melodie Ann and son, Dennis of Council Bluffs; Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Rice and daughters, Lynn Ann and Diane Lea of Janesville, Miss Minnie Lau of Klemme, Mrs. A. E. Lyons of Mason City, Mrs. James Manuel of Mason City; Mrs. H. A. Greiman of Garner, Frieda Radloff of Garner, Mrs. Ruby Quintus of Garner. Mrs. Victor Meyers of Clear Lake and Mrs. Laurence Radolff of Garner.
