The Basinger family is unbelievably saddened to share with our extended family and friends that we have experienced a very unexpected loss. June 29th we received word that Shaun Eric Basinger had passed away unexpectedly of natural causes.

As many of you may remember, brother Shaun joined our family as a tiny but mighty 4 year old from Vietnam in 1970 while we were living in Tokyo, Japan. He became an American citizen in 1974 at age 8. He enjoyed living in Tokyo, Japan, Goldfield Iowa, Seoul, Korea and Des Moines, Iowa throughout his childhood. He played the piano and trumpet in marching band and was in Boy Scouts. Shaun graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in 1984 and attended Fort Dodge Community College. He loved his nieces, nephews, and grandparents.

Shaun worked for United Airlines for over 20 years, in Des Moines, Philadelphia, Texas and, lastly, LAX International, where he has been a devoted employee for the last 14 years.

Shaun’s uniqueness, perseverance, and dedication to his career will always be remembered ❤️.
