4 November 1864 ---- 29 September 1932

Funeral services were held at the Thor Lutheran Church, Sunday for Mrs. Rolf Hanson, who died last Thursday afternoon. She had been ill for many years and was seriously ill for two weeks before her death. Gjertina Knutson was born November 4, 1864 at Kirketeigen, Norway and died Sept. 29, 1932 at the age of 67 years

In October, 1882 she immigrated to America with her parents Knut Knutson and Alice Peterson, settling in Humboldt County. She was united in marriage October 5, 1883 to Rolf Hanson. She leaves to mourn her death her husband and 10 children; Mrs. Hannah Hughes, Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, Carl of Forest City, Mrs. Anna Bjornson of Humboldt, Mrs. Alice Chodar of Crystal Lake, Robert and Julius of Renwick, George, John, Martin, and Edith Fuhr of Thor, A son, Lewis, and an infant daughter preceded her in death. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. John Seip of Algona, 42 grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces.

Relatives from Rolfe, Havelock, Laurens, Rutland, Algona, Humboldt, Bode, Belmond, and Eagle Grove attended the funeral. The six sons of Mrs. Hanson acted as pallbearers at their mother's funeral.
