6 August 1868 --- 11 August 1958

Augusta Ellen Barnt, daughter of Daniel and Eliza Jane Barnt, was born in Tama Aug. 6, 1868 and passed away Aug. 11, 1958 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mabel Lindsay, at the age of 90 years and 5 days.

She was married to Anton Simon "Sam" Jensen on Oct. 5, 1898. Five children came to bless their home. They are Mrs. Mary Culter, Mrs. Mable Lindsay, Mrs. Alice Christensen of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Luella Olson of Monmouth, Ill. Her husband and one daughter preceded her in death. Besides her daughters, 5 grandchildren survive, Duane Christensen of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Beverly Marazek of Clarion, Mrs. Bonnie Bean of Belcourt, N. D., Mrs. Mary Ellen Jensen and Mrs. Dixie Lee Janssen of Eagle Grove and 9 great-grandchildren. Two sisters also survive. They are Mrs. Mary Razey of Quincy, Wash., and Mrs. Florence Razey of Naches, Wash.

Mrs. Jensen joined the United Brethren Church in Tama. She came to Eagle Grove to live in 1898 where she has since made her home. She suffered a stroke 2 years ago in July. She bore her suffering patiently, was a devoted mother and was grateful to all those who made her last days as comfortable as possible.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon Aug. 14th in the Sacquety Chapel in charge of Rev. Roy Cox. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
