Myron O. Price was born March 28, 1906, at Independence and was the son of Edward and Minnie Meister Price. As a child, he moved to the Milford area and was raised by his Meister grandparents. He graduated from Arnold's Park High School in 1925. In 1928 he graduated from Buena Vista College with a music degree. He worked for the
Department of Agriculture as an inspector for eight years, during which time he lived in Goldfield. Later he moved to Clarion and operated a restaurant. From 1955 until 1963, he was the Wright County Auditor. He then worked for the State Auditor of Iowa as a field auditor specializing in school and city audits until retiring in 1973. After his retirement, he helped at the Clarion Office Supply.His first marriage was to Effie Wright in 1938 and she died in 1953. He and Marian Willison Carr were married in Belmond in 1956. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Clarion; Clarion Coin Collectors, former Clarion Municipal Band; and was a former leader of the Goldfield Band. He was also past president of the Clarion Senior Citizens and Iowa State Auditors Association.
Myron O. Price, 86, Clarion, died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion, Monday evening, April 27, 1992. He was preceded in death by his parents; and first wife. He is survived by his wife; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Noel (Patricia) Godfrey, Plano, Texas; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Services were held from the First United Methodist Church, Friday, May 1, at 10:30 am. The Rev. Jerald G. Swanberg officiated and burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery. Willim Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of the services.
