Funeral services were held February 21 at Sacred Heart Church, Eagle Grove, for Mrs. Frances Coddington, who died February 18 at Lake Geneva, Wisc., where she had been making her home the last year and one half with her son Leonard Kist.

Frances A. Maier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Maier, was born in Swetzingen, Baden, Germany on September 2, 1882. In 1887 the family moved to Eagle Grove where she lived until the last three years. In September 1902 she married Charles Kist. To this union five sons were born. Her husband and two infant sons preceded her in death. In 1923 she was married to Burdette Coddington and to this union two daughters were born. Mr. Coddington died in 1931.

She is survived by one brother, Carl Maier of Eagle Grove; one son Leonard Kist of Lake Geneva, Wisc.; two daughters, Mrs. Claude (Clara) Smith of Webster City, and Mrs. Kenneth (Dorothy) Kvale of Eagle Grove; one stepdaughter, Viola Coddington of Eagle Grove and 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, nine brothers, and sons Harold Kist in 1950 and Eugene Kist in 1962. She was a Charter member of Catholic Daughters of America and the Sacred Heart Guild.

Mrs. Francis Coddington, 87, Rt. 3, Lake Geneva, died unexpectedly in her home this morning. She was born Sept. 2, 1882, in Germany. Mrs. Coddington had been married to Charles Kist and to Berdette [Burdette] Coddington, both of whom preceded her in death. She had been a resident of this area for the past year. Mrs. Coddington belonged to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lyons, Wis.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Claude Smith, Webster City, Iowa, Mrs. Kenneth Kvale, Eagle Grove, Iowa; a son, Leonard Kist, Lake Geneva; a brother, Carl Mayer, Eagle Grove, Iowa; 21 grandchildren and 19 great¬ grandchildren.

Services will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove, and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa. Friends may call at Steinke Funeral Home, Lake Geneva, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Rosary will be at 8 p.m.
