Heart Attack Proves Fatal
Mrs. Van Harris Whiteman 78, dies at home, Funeral Saturday

Mrs. Van Harris Whiteman, 75, died at her home on Third street last evening about 7:20 o'clock following a heart attack. She had been in poor health for some time. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. Manson E. Miller pastor of the Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the Woolstock cemetery.

Mary Jane Hart, daughter of Elizabeth Jane and Davis Hart was born at Freeport, Ill. Feb. 3, 1861. With her parents three brothers and one sister she came to Iowa and settled on a farm near Woolstock where she resided for 22 years. Later she moved to Renwick and was married to Van Harris Whiteman, Sept 15, 1897. With her husband and one daughter she moved to Webster City Nov. 25, 1907 where she has since resided.

Besides her husband, she leaves one daughter, Mrs. Floyd Spitler and three grandchildren, Marvin and Darrell Kleckner and Sharon Elaine Spitler. Three brothers preceded her in death, Ferguson and James many years ago and Joseph W. Hart who died March 8, 1936. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Frank Spangler of Woolstock.
