13 February 1836 ---- 23 February 1903

The remains of Mrs. S. Benjamin, who died at the home of her son, Rev. E. S. Benjamin at Vincent, Ia., Monday, were shipped here Tuesday for burial. The funeral was held that afternoon at the M. E. church, services conducted by Rev. G.W. Pratt of Fort Dodge, assisted by the local pastor, Rev. A. M. Cochran. Mrs. Benjamin was a cousin of our townsman, James Deland, and formerly resided in Storm Lake. Her home was in Sioux City, and she was visiting her son at the time of her death. Mrs. Benjamin had been in poor health for some time, and her death was not wholly unexpected at this time.
