MRS. NEWMAN, AGE 42, DIES
Heart Attack Causes Death; Emergency Operation Saves Baby.Mrs. Roy Newman, 42, died last evening at 8:30 o'clock at the hospital, death being caused by heart trouble. She suffered a heart attack at her home and was taken to the hospital where an emergency Caesarean operation was performed in an effort to save both the mother and child. The child, a baby boy, is getting along nicely. she also leaves three other children.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. Manson E. Miller, pastor of the Church of Christ officiating; burial in Graceland cemetery.
Mrs. Newman was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. L. P. Caquelin, who died 13 years ago, and by a brother who died 19 years ago. She leaves to mourn her death her husband, four children, Shirley, Wesley, Stanley and the baby son [Robert Neil], her father, L. P. Caquelin, who lives north of this city, and four sisters, Mrs. Paul Marshall, Mrs. Rayner Nickles and Mrs. Ben Moats, of Webster City, and Mrs. Marvin Craig of Omaha.
She was born in Cass township, her maiden name being Miss Nellie A. Caquelin. She was married Dec. 20, 1917 to Ray Newman in Webster City. For some years the couple lived on a farm east of Woolstock, but for the past five years they had lived in Webster City. Their home was at 1445 Third street. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith at the French church, near Woolstock.
