21 March 1882 ---- 3 November 1947

Adolph Willicksen, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Nov 3, while en route from his home in Sioux Falls to California, where he expected to make his home. The funeral will be held in Sioux Falls, Friday of this week. Mr. Willicksen had been in poor health the past six months. He, his wife, and his son were resuming their trip west after visiting overnight with his sister, Mrs Henry Knutzen of Eagle Grove.

The body was taken to the Foster funeral home where it will remain until removal to Sioux Falls this morning. Services at Sioux Falls will be held at the Miller funeral home with burial in that city.

Mr. Willicksen was born at Thor, IA, March 21, 1882. He was educated and grew to young manhood in that community. He engaged in electrical work and was superintendent of telephone lines at Sioux Falls before going to Bridgeport, where he was employed for 22 years by the United Illuminating Co. He was assistant manager there for many years. He was married Nov 21, 1905 to Miss Marie Howe at Sioux Falls.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters: William and Robert of San Diego; Mrs. Earl (Madeline) Alexander of Iron Mountain, Michigan; and Mrs Leroy (Dorothy) Camp, San Diego. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and the one sister, Mrs Knutzen. He was preceded in death by two sons and two daughters, who died in infancy; a brother, William, and three sisters: Minnie Winterton, Mrs. Inger Olson and Mrs. Lena Gaugstad.

A member of the Norwegian Lutheran church, he was active in church work. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge.
