DIES AT HOME OF DAUGHTER IN THIS CITY

Funeral Services for Mrs. Carrie Frohling, 68, on Monday

Mrs. Carrie Frohling, 68, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. D. Hutchinson, 620 Bank street, at 4:20 p.m. Friday. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the English Lutheran church, preceded by a brief service at the Hutchinson home at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. J. C. Suter, city, and the Rev. E.A. Piper, Fairfield, officiated and burial was made in Graceland Cemetery, with Foster's in charge.

Born in Chicago

She was born Sept. 26, 1873, in Chicago where she grew to young womanhood. She was married May 21, 1893, in Chicago to Gustav Steinke. They lived there four years and later moved to Indiana and then to Iowa where they farmed in Hamilton and Wright counties. Mr. Steinke died in 1913 and after living a year with her daughter, Mrs. Ed Carpenter, and another year on the farm, Mrs. Steinke moved into Webster City. She was married March 16, 1926, to Peter Frohling, who preceded her in death. A son, Emil Steinke, died in 1919. He was a veteran of the World War and died enroute home from France.

She leaves a son, W.A. Steinke, of Waterloo, and six daughters, Mrs. Carpenter and Mrs. Hutchinson, city; Miss Ida Steinke, Waterloo; Mrs. R.A. Gregory, city; Mrs. C.A. Larson, Waterloo, and Mrs. A.C. Singer, city.

Gold Star Mother

There are eight grandchildren and two sisters living in Michigan. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the English Lutheran Church. She was also a Gold Star mother.
