James (Jim) Shillington passed away on December 15, 2017, in Phoenix, Arizona. Jim was born on October 29, 1923, in Clarion, Iowa, but has made his home in Phoenix for 55 years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served in New Guinea and the Philippine Islands for 2 years during WW II. For all of his adult life, Jim was a barber and took great pride in his craft. He was a kind and gentle man who was greatly loved and respected by his family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by Marjorie, his wife of 57 years. He is survived by his children: Tom and his wife Alice, John and his wife Patty, Mary Somody and her husband Terry, Marcia Schlinglof, Mark and his wife Gwen, Chuck and his wife Dawn. Jim is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Phoenix Memorial Park on Wednesday, December 20, at 2:00 P. M.
