Mrs. May Eike died at her home in this city at 10:45 Monday, Sept. 2nd, after an illness of about two weeks with typhoid fever. Her death is a peculiarly sad one as she leaves three small children, one boy 12 years old, and two younger sisters.
May Hanson was born in Benton county Dec. 13th, 1868. She came to Eagle Grove in 1893, and in 1894 Nov. 25th was married to Mat. Eike who survives her death.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the Samuel Lutheran church, of which she was a member. Rev. A. E. Distad conducting the services. The interment was in Rose Hill cemetery. Among the relatives from abroad attending the funeral were three sisters of the deceased with their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Anderson of Radcliffe, Mr. and Mrs. T. Mason of Story City, Jno. Olson, a brother, and wife of Linn Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Holverson of Lisbon N. D., and the fourth sister, Rev. Mrs. Ristad of Linn Grove, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Peterson of Vinton. The surviving relatives have the warm sympathy of all.
