16 June 1835 --- 23 September 1905

Fred Heiden one of the pioneer settlers of Vernon township died last Saturday night and was buried Monday. He was ill only a few days of kidney trouble. Mr. Heiden was about 70 years of age, a good friend, neighbor and citizen.

Fred Heiden, an old and respected citizen passed away Saturday, Sept. 23rd. The funeral was held at the German church Tuesday, the 26th.
