Joe Collier, 69, of Barnum formerly of Farnhamville, IA passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. The memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Joe was born in Fort Dodge on February 15, 1948 to Joel and Marlene (Schroeder) Collier. He grew up and attended school in Barnum. He was united in marriage to Janis Baker on October 28, 1966 in Fort Dodge. He worked for the City of Renwick, Bush Hog, and White Transfer & Storage for many years then Humboldt Sausage until retiring in 2013. He was a member of ABATE of Iowa and the Harley Davidson Owners Group. He enjoyed motorcycling, driving his Corvette and going to the casino. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his children Janis (Jeremiah) Miller of Manson, IA, Joy (Michael) Thoma of Clare, IA, Joel (Theresa) Collier of Humboldt, IA, Jamie (Cory) Saxton of Callender, IA, Jodi (Kevin) Collier of Farnhamville, IA and Richard (Kim) Neumann of Fort Dodge; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his sister Diana (Denny) Attleson of Barnum, IA; brothers-in-law Merlin Dutcher of Barnum, Dale (Sharla) Baker of Fort Dodge and Don Baker of Fort Dodge; sisters-in-law Sandra (Steve) Smith of Arlington, TX, Judy (Darwin) Klaahsen of Humboldt, IA and Stacy Baker of Lake City, IA and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wife Janis; his parents Joel and Marlene; father-in-law and mother-in-law Melvin and Janis Baker; son-in-law Todd West and his sister Lois Dutcher.
