July 8, 1835 ---- November 22, 1923

Mr. George Henry Stumpf was born in Ober-Franken Bavaria, Germany, July 8, 1835, and died November 22nd, 1923, at the home of his daughter at Coyle, Okla. At the times of his death he was aged 88 years, 4 months and 14 days. In 1861 he married Margaret Miller. To this happy union were born 8 children. In 1863 they came to America, setting first in Illinois, later in Iowa. Coming to Oklahoma in 1900 they made their home near Okarche until the death of his wife April 30th of this year. Being reared in the Lutheran faith he remained throughout his entire life a devoted member of the Lutheran church. He leaves to mourn his loss three sons and two daughters: John of Eagle Grove, Iowa; Henry and Sophia both of Duncombe, Iowa; Lena of Coyle, Okla., and Fred of Okarche. Besides these, he leaves 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, together with a host of friends and relatives to mourn their loss.
