Grace Helen (Laursen) Heggen Hefty passed away July 10, 2008, in Enumclaw, Wash., at the age of 83. Prior to moving to Enumclaw three years ago, she was a Del Norte County [California] resident for 55 years and worked at the Del Norte Triplicate.

Grace was born Jan. 4, 1925, in Iowa. She is survived by daughter, Debbie (Heggen) and (Douglas) Witt; sons Neal Heggen, Gary and (Anita) Heggen; her sister Bernice Stewart of Florida, grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives. She was preceded in death by Charles Heggen, her first husband, in 1989, and her second husband, Dick Hefty, in 1995. A private memorial service will be held. The family prefers contributions to the individual's favorite charitable organization or the Cancer Society.
