30 December 1888 ---- 17 September 1963

Ralph Wilbur Smith, 74, died Tuesday Sept. 17 at the Mathre Nursing Home where he had been a patient for ten days. Previously he had been in the Clarion hospital. Funeral service will be Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Sandvig Funeral Home, with Rev. Lyle Lieder in charge. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, six sons and two daughters: Lloyd of South Gate, Calif.; Gerald of Eagle Grove, Earl of West Bend; Dale of Eagle Grove; John of Bloomington, Ill.; Donald of Minot, N. D.; Mrs. Norman Rawson of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. James Clausen of Goldfield. He is also survived by four brothers and three sisters: John of Pomeroy, Bert of Rockwell City; Lewis of Jolly; Fred of Sac City; Mrs. Nina Tannahill of Yetter; Mrs. Clarence Pearson, Willow Lake, S.D. and Mrs. Elmo Chapman of Jolly.

Mr. Smith was born Dec. 30, 1888 at Ancora, Ill. and his parents were Mr. and Mrs. Guy Ballard Smith. He was married in 1909 to Iva Jones at Rockwell City.
