Mabel Fell Dies; Funeral to Be Thursday
Funeral services for Mabel Fell, 89, pioneer Hancock County resident, will be held at the Bohn Funeral Home in Garner at 1:30 p.m. and the First Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. D. Barry Lash, pastor of the United Presbyterian Church, will be in charge of the service. Burial will be in Concord Township Cemetery, Garner. Mrs. Fell died at 1001 Elm Drive, Mason City, Monday night following a lingering illness.
Mabel Robinson, the daughter of George W. and Jane A. Applebee Robinson, was born at Barrington, Ill., on Aug. 4, 1868. When a young girl, the family moved to Hancock County and lived at Goodell and Britt before coming to Garner. On Oct. 15, 1887, she was married to Marion Fell. The couple moved to Garner and lived here continuously since. Mr. Fell for many years was engaged in the real estate business here. He died on Feb. 26, 1928. Two children, Eva J. Fell and Marion Vernon Fell, preceded their mother in death. Survivors are a son, Jay George Fell, Mason City; two grandsons, Joseph Fell of Mason City and Lawrence Fell of Clear Lake and four great grandchildren.
