Sophia Amelia Bradley was born June 5, 1919 at Burt, Iowa, to August and Amelia (Schwant) Schipull. She graduated from Burt High School in 1937. In 1941, Sophia was married to Russell Shipler and they later divorced. Sophia worked at Council Oaks Grocery in Algona from 1956 - 1957 when she began working at Snap-On Tools in Algona. She worked there for 19 years, retiring in 1976. In 1966, Sophia was married to Leo Sabin and he died in 1987. On November 6, 1989, she was married to Garland Bradley in Algona and he died in 1990. Sophia lived in Whittemore her entire life until she became a resident at the Algona Manor Care Center in Algona in January, 2013. She died on Monday morning, June 3, 2013 at Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona at the age of 93.

Sophia enjoyed reading, playing cards and gambling. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Whittemore as well as the Algona Senior Citizens.

Survivors include her step daughters, LaVonne Eimers of Midway, Arkansas, Joan Schwieger of Swea City, Iowa and Darlene Davis of Armstrong, Iowa as well as nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother Harold Schipull of LuVerne, Iowa. Sophia was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, four grandchildren, one step-daughter Carol Zwiefel, brothers Lawrence, Leonard and Henry and twin sisters, Martha Long and Marie Shipler.
