Mary Theresa McNally was born August 30, 1850, at Temple Hill, Jones county, Iowa. She was married to James F. Lynch on April 20, 1875, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Eight children were born to this union, four of whom, with her husband, survive her, namely: Mrs. F. S. Gormley of Chicago; Dr. R. J. Lynch, Dr. O. E. Lynch, and Mrs. George Indra, all of Des Moines; also four grandchildren. She is survived also by one sister, Miss Anna McNally, of Cascade, Iowa.

The funeral services were held July 23, at 9 o'clock, at the Sacred Heart church by the Rev. T. J. Nolan, pastor, who delivered a beautiful tribute to Mother. The pallbearers were James Long, M. Donegan, Ted Wright, M. E. Noonan, S. Flynn, and Frank Mulligan. The solos at the mass were sung by Gordon Merrill, Mrs. James Whalen, and Miss Mildred Collins, accompanied by Misses Gertrude Garland and Gretchen Kubitschek.

The members of the family and relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were Mrs. F. S. Gormley, of Chicago; Dr. R. J. Lynch, Dr. O. E. Lynch, Mr. and Mrs. George Indra and son, George, of Des Moines; Thomas and Bernard McNally of Ulysses, Nebr., and Mr. and Mrs. James Adams of Belmond.

Mrs. Lynch was well known and was loved by all with whom she came in contact. Her kind neighborliness and unselfishness made her a friend who will be greatly missed. She had a very happy, genial, disposition. She was a loving wife and mother and a devoted Christian.
