C. P. Myklebust, 66, died at his home in this city Sunday afternoon. He had been ill for nearly two years from a disease which was diagnosed as a form of cancer, affecting his leg. Mr. Myklebust was born in Hardanger, Norway, and came to this county 45 years ago. In 1901 he opened a photograph studio in Eagle Grove over the Nerby Drug store. He remained in this location until he purchased the present location of the business on North Commercial Avenue, just a half block off Broadway.
In 1912, Mr. Myklebust was united in marriage with Miss Anna Eck of Fort Dodge, and to this union one daughter was born, Margaret, now employed at Mason City. In addition to the widow and the daughter, two sisters survive, Mrs. George Hanson of Eagle Grove, one living in Minneapolis and a brother still lives in Norway.
Mr. Myklebust was a faithful member of the East Side Lutheran church. He served two terms as councilman-at-large. The Myklebust home in the west part of the city was his special pride and there evidenced his love of the beautiful in nature by fine flowers and well kept shrubbery. The deceased was an honorable, straightforward, successful business man and there is genuine regret expressed by all because of his untimely passing. As a tribute of respect, the business houses were closed during the funeral.
