Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Schutt were held Saturday, July 18 at the Eyler Funeral Home with burial in the Clarion Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Henry Huisinga, Wilbur Schutt, Galen Beisner, Frank Beisner Jr., John Schutt, and Thomas Schutt, nephews of the deceased.

Mary Elizabeth Schutt was born on a farm in Wall Lake township November 28, 1879, the daughter of John and Henrietta Lopes Schutt. She lived with her brother, Otto, on this same farm until December 1961 when he passed away. Thereafter she made her home with relatives until 1965 when failing health made it necessary for her to live in a nursing home. Three weeks ago she entered the Clarion Memorial hospital where she passed away Thursday, July 16 at the age of 90 years.

Mary was the last surviving member of her family, having been preceded in death by four brothers, Gustave, Ed, Otto and John, a half-brother, William and a half-sister, Augusta. She is survived by twenty nieces and nephews and many friends.
