Dr. Gerald L. Arne (Jerry), born June 2, 1930, passed away January 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.Jerry was born to Gus and Louise Arne of Renwick, Iowa. Following high school, he graduated from the Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. During this time, Jerry met the love of his life, Jean, his wife of 65 years. They married and later relocated to Minnetonka Beach, Minnesota, where they lived for 36 years. Jerry opened his chiropractic practice in Wayzata in 1956. He was professionally ahead of his time, and well respected by his peers and the medical community. He was named Minnesota Chiropractor of the Year in 1972.

He was a member of Wayzata Rotary for 30 years, for which he served a term as President. Jerry and Jean were blessed to have 11 children, Therese Arne, Jane Quammen (Tom), Steve Arne (Bessie), Pam Horner (Brad), Linda Machmeier (Bruce), Jerry Arne (Karla), Mike Arne, Brian Arne (Jennifer), athleen Sullivan (nee Arne), Robert Arne (Joelle), Jon Arne (Gretchen); 27 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Louise Arne; brother, Douglas and daughter, Jane Quammen.

Jerry was known for his humor, story-telling and love of community. He will be missed by his wife, Jean, his family and all who knew him. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Wayzata. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held on Tuesday, January 30, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church (155 County Rd. 24,
Wayzata, MN 55391). Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., with mass to follow at 11:00 a.m.
