Bernard Roskamp, 89, of Clarion passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018, at the Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services for Bernard Roskamp will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 9, 2018, at the Holmes Baptist Church, 2137 Hancock Avenue in Holmes, with Pastor Zach Fischer officiating. Burial will take place at the Wright Christian Reformed Church Cemetery in rural Kanawha. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Bernard Roskamp was born on August 21, 1928, to George and Edith (Ruter) Roskamp on a farm southwest of Kanawha. He attended Norway #3 School through the 8th grade and graduated from Belmond High School in 1946. On July 31, 1952, Bernard was united in marriage to Marjorie Verbrugge. The couple moved to Clarion in 1958. Bernard worked for the Allen Printing Company until retiring in 1993. He then drove for Krysilis in Clarion until retiring in 2008. Bernard was a member of the Holmes Baptist Church.

Bernard is survived by his wife Marjorie of Clarion; five children Loris (Byron) Vogt of Omaha, NE, Gordon (Michelle) Roskamp of Adel, Craig Roskamp of Des Moines, Lenore (David) Rodgers of Bend, OR, and Gloria (David) Hansen of Jefferson City, MO; eight grandchildren Anne Vogt, Catherine Sherman, Stephanie (Erich) Tran, Benjamin Roskamp, Sommer Wilkening, Matthew Rodgers, Claire Hansen, and Andrew Hansen; six great-grandchildren Christopher, Daniel, and William DeSpirito, Quentin Sherman, and Ethan and Sophie Tran; brother Gene Roskamp; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Percy Roskamp and Carl Roskamp, and sister Gladys Seebeck.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials be given to Mosaic (formerly Krysilis) or Gateway Hospice in Bernard Roskamp’s name.
