Roger Joseph Bauman, the son of Nicholas and Elizabeth (Maier) Bauman, was born June 7, 1923, on a farm east of Eagle Grove. He grew up and attended rural schools in the Eagle Grove area. In 1937, Roger and his parents moved to a farm west of Woolstock where he helped his father farm. On January 19, 1955, Roger was united in marriage with DeLores Skillbred at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parsonage in Eagle Grove. The couple made their home and farmed west of Woolstock for over 50 years retiring in 1988, when they moved to Eagle Grove. Roger moved to Rotary Senior Living in September of 2014.

Roger was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Roger enjoyed the outdoors and nature – gardening, growing apples farming and hunting.

Roger passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove at the age of 94 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, DeLores Bauman in 2013 and brothers, Nicholas (Marcella) Bauman and Donald Bauman and brother-in-law, Gene Berg.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove, with Father Jerry Blake officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
